Carolina Fontoura Alzaga a.k.a FACARO

FACARO_Carolina Fontoura Alzaga

Carolina Fontoura Alzaga (Caro) is an emerging multidisciplinary artist who operates under the name Facaro and is recognized internationally for her unique perspectives on medium and form.

I've had the privilege to assist Caro in constructing these marvelous chandeliers.
I met Caro at a bike shop I was wrenching at in Hollywood.
I would put aside the used chains, cassettes and rims for her.
The shop would normally throw away these parts because it no longer served its purpose.
It was consider worn out and unrepairable.
At first I couldn't imagine what she would do with the parts.
When Caro told me that she made Chandeliers. I couldn't picture it but as soon as I saw the connect series on her website, my mind was blown.

Caro is based in Los Angeles, California, where she produces art and pieces for the CONNECT Series in her downtown studio. Click the image below to enter site.
